“Just My Typo”–A Review

“If you feel cold, put on a sweater, crap yourself in a blanket, or turn up the heat.”

For those of you who have always been fans of grammar, words, punctuation, etc., I highly recommend that you read Just My Typo: From “Sinning With the Choir” to “The Untied States,” by Drummond Moir.  While reading these passages, you might make a face, scratch your head, or laugh.  Actually, you will laugh.  I did, for sure, especially because I’ve always been a fan of grammar and punctuation.  No matter what type of writing we all do, though, typos will happen.  I know that I’ve had those moments when I’d feel my face flush after my realizing that I’d sent something with a typo, whether it was an email, text message, etc.

Nevertheless, this book made me laugh.  The reader will stumble upon sentences, such as: “Illegally parked cars will be fine”; (If they insist, right?) “Thou shalt commit adultery”; and so forth.  This book presents errors in literature, the media, historical, political, legal paperwork, kids’ schoolwork, scripture, Autocorrect, etc.

Happy reading, all!

FTC Disclosure: I received this book from Blogging for Books, in exchange for an honest review.

People who enjoy this book should check out Terribly Write, which features the typos, grammatical gaffes, miserable misspellings, and other egregious errors of the writers who work for Yahoo.
